Manage Your Time Well

This was a very interesting show at our national TV, back in my school days. The host of the show used to read letters from the fans. One viewer requested to increase the duration of the show from half an hour as it was really short time. I liked the approach and answer of the anchor, he said, "If you really want to know, how long half an hour duration is? Just lock yourself all alone in a room with no utilities for half an hour and see how difficult it seems to pass that time". I think he was right, we lack the skill of time management. Provided the sources of entertainment, social media and others, we do not realize how easy it is for us to mismanage our time. I read a recent article which stated how leaders managed their time and their life. They need to come up with strict rules for themselves to stay on the right track of managing work and life. I also read another article recently on 'PhD Talk' blog, where the author who just joined a university as a Professor, discussed her situation where it was really difficult for her to do research as well as take full academic load. Even that article did not suggest any rules but some suggestions from people already in academia and how they managed their lives. Anyways, there is a need for everyone young or old to work on time management skills and I think, at professional level we may have some kind of workshops or training on the subject.
