ICT in Transferring Knowledge

Its more than a year that I am teaching at an Engineering University. I have been teaching programming for some time now and have emphasized on the use of Information, and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve learning and teaching experience and make that fun. I sometimes played videos about technology start-ups, motivational lectures, stories of different CEOs. Also, I emphasized on online learning tools, integrated the use of different forums and off the shelf products to make the process of transferring knowledge more luring and attractive. One of the problems I pointed out was of communications with the students. The message or announcement propagation was really slow. I gave that a little thought and for communication, I selected Twitter and for sharing course material, I am using Google drive. There are many other choices including Dropbox and others but given the huge online storage space and simple use, I stick with drive. Among other ways to connect and many social media websites, I preferred twitter again because of its simplicity and the fact that anyone can follow one regardless of the fact that they have their account with twitter or not and every time you tweet, it will be sent as an SMS to all and it reaches to 100% audience and that too free of cost. Now, if its late night and still, I want to make an announcement and want to make sure every body gets it, I just tweet that.
