Social Media and Access to Information

Once me and some friends were discussing innovation. Some said its really difficult to generate new ideas as the online scene is too saturated. I was of view, if you can innovate, you can always capture market share. I emphasized by letting them know that if Facebook is one of the most popular social networks today, in future some more innovative and creative social medium may take over. Many social media were there before Facebook appeared on the internet scene but still somehow it overtook those. So, no wonder something more attractive may be next social website of the day. But, if we have a close look at things Facebook is doing, it seems it want to stay longer there as a preferred network. Recently, I came across this story of Forbes magazine about the Facebook's drone based internet provision to low density areas. They are planning to provide internet via satellite and solar powered drones which could stay aloft for a month. This project is an example of big vision of the organization and Mark Zuckerberg. This project will not only allow people use Facebook but allow them at remote areas of world to get an access to information and knowledge.
